My artistic work operates within the field of sculpture, installation and moving image. I am interested in the material world, it's ability to last, change and disappear in time. I create installations and video works in which sculpture transforms over time. I burn clay sculptures over a campfire and build underwater still - lifes, where softer and harder ceramic pieces collapse at different paces. The core of my work is in the poetic observation and momentary capture of time and matter. I like works with tenderness, material and inner warmth, works with clumsy majesty.
Finland-based visual artist Enni Vekkeli has graduated from Saimaa University of Applied Sciences. Vekkeli has held solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions and screenings in Finland and abroad. Her sculptures are featured in Finnish State Collection and in Collection of Museo Omero, State Museum of Italy.
